Helpful Conversations With Spiritual Friends

Mentoring and Coaching Skills

Coaching is an approach to stimulate and expand the natural resources for growth and positive change in other people. Mentoring is a way of skilfully sharing our own merits, experience, and knowledge with others so as to support their growth in healthy confidence and ability.

Both approaches are means of supporting and empowering our friends without exhausting ourselves.
Dependent on specific interests and needs of the participants we will explore conversations and experiment with methods of gentle questioning that encourage people (including ourselves):

  • to grow and develop,
  • to access inner knowledge and experience,
  • to take responsibility for one’s spiritual life and states of mind,
  • to develop a healthy sense of interdependence.

Through discussion, small group and practical sessions with partners, we will coach and mentor each other on our own topics.

By the end of the workshop, participants should feel confident to use a range coaching and mentoring questions that will help deepen their friendships.
