Essential Sangharakshita: Teachings on the Bodhisattva Ideal
Sangharakshita’s distinctive teachings on the Bodhisattva Path
With Ratnaguna
Thursday, 10 June (6pm) to Tuesday, 15 June (after lunch)
Open to all serious Dharma practitioners with a regular meditation practice.
The Bodhisattva is the ‘ideal Buddhist’ of the Mahayana, the Great Way, with its magnificent vision of enlightening the whole universe. Over the last thirty years Sangharakshita has developed a distinctive approach to the path of the Bodhisattva, helping us to see how we can practice it in the conditions of the modern world.
In this seminar we’ll explore some important aspects of this approach, looking at the Bodhisattva Principle, the Bodhisattva path as the way of friendship, transforming self and society simultaneously, going beyond self-pre-occupation, the Bodhicitta arising within a collective rather than in the individual, and the ‘third order of consciousness’.
Suggested donation: £150. Accommodation: £15/10 per night.
Please book early. Our teachers put a lot of preparation into the seminars — sometimes several weeks of work. We would find it irresponsible to let them do all that and then cancel the even at short notice due to lack of participants.
If you consider attending, but aren’t as yet certain, please let us know. By booking early, you can help us prevent disappointment on all sides.
