Support for Dharma-dana

Sharing the Dharma and the FWBO Mitra Training Course

Dharmapala College offers support to those wishing to develop their skills in teaching and the practice of Dharma-dana. We co-operate with a number of experienced teachers and trainers who are willing to make their expertise available to those spreading the Dharma.

While this website is being produced, work on the new FWBO Mitra Training Course is still under way and the various modules have not yet been fixed. Certain themes, though, are very likely to be prominent in the new Mitra course. At Dharmapala College, we regard it as one of our core tasks to support both new and experienced leaders of the Mitra course in their work.

Many Dharmapala College events, therefore, will give attention to questions of teaching and the practice of Dharma-dana:

Several seminar-retreats will explore central themes of the future Mitra course. Generally, the main focus of these events will be on deepening your own understanding and meditative exploration of the subject, rather than on teaching. We’ll be happy, though, both individually and in small extra-curricular groups, to explore teaching issues with you. Additionally, we may be able to support you after the seminar in your practice of Dharma-dana. If you are interested in this, consider one of these events:

Our programme includes various training courses for group leaders and teachers. Here, the focus will be on developing specific teaching and communication skills. These courses and workshops will usually include various practical exercises, and you will receive helpful feedback from both course leaders and fellow participants. If you are interested in this, you might wish to explore one of these events:

Furthermore, there are courses on supportive methods that may be of interest for both Dharma teachers and others. Here, again, the focus will not primarily be on teaching, but on gaining familiarity with the method(s) in question which you may then apply in whatever context is relevant for you. If you are interested in this, you might wish to explore one of these events:

Besides these events, most of which will take place at Madhyamaloka in Birmingham, we are happy to offer specific courses and workshops at your local centre. Here, we’ll further develop the work that we’ve begun in 2007. Participants of such events who wish to go deeper, may then attend a ‘level 2′ event at Madhyamaloka.
We would like to know from you how we can best support you. And you may wish to find out from us, what else we may be able to offer: Please contact Dhammaloka through our contact form here.
